Eligibility
To obtain a UAE visa, you must fulfil the following criteria.
- Must be a genuine traveller
- You should have sufficient funds and bear all of your expenses.
- Having strong ties in your home country and must be able to ensure your return.
- Demonstrate good character and no previous criminal records, fraud, blacklist, or illegal charges in the UAE.
- Must be in good health condition.
- Parents or guardians must accompany females under 18 years.
Rates / What type of visa do I need?
The type of visa may vary depending on the length of your stay in the UAE. Following are the Visa types to choose from. All rates mentioned are in UAE Dirhams (AED) and are non-refundable. The estimated visa processing time would be three to five days, subject to immigration approval.
Transit Visa - Single Entry
For passengers travelling (transit) through UAE’s airports. Transit visas are issued for either 48 hours or 96 hours. A Transit visa for 48 hours is issued free of charge, while a transit visa for 96 hours can be issued at the cost of AED 50. These visas are neither extendable nor renewable and issued only for passengers crossing the UAE’s airports while reaching the third destination.

Tourist Visa - Single Entry
If you are a tourist planning to visit UAE, you must apply for a tourist visa before arriving in the country. This type of visa may be extended twice for 30 days, and you will have to pay AED 960 per extension.

Tourist Visa - Multiple Entry
For those planning to visit UAE more than once within 60 days. Travellers are allowed to make multiple visits for 60 days from the first date of entry into the UAE. However, your stay cannot be exceeded more than 30 days from the date of entry to the UAE, and the visa must be extended twice for 30 days of stay each time.

Long Term Tourist Visa - Single Entry
For travellers planning to stay in the UAE for more than 30 days. This single-entry visa entitles you to stay in the UAE for up to 60 days or less. The visa is valid for 60 days from the date of issue and can be extended twice for 30 days. If the traveller departs the country within 60 days, the visa expires.

Long Term Visit Visa - Multiple Entry
Travellers can enter the emirates multiple times within 60 days through this special visa. The visa validity will be 60 days from the date of issue and can be extended twice for 30 days.

How to apply for a UAE visa
You may submit the necessary documents and information and apply through one of the methods listed below:
- Government portals of the UAE
- National airlines and authorised airlines in the UAE

Steps to follow:
- 1. Fill in the visa application form with accurate personal information and other details requested (reason for travel, health information, flight ticket details, duration of stay, itinerary and accommodation)
- 2. Check the form thoroughly to avoid any mistakes and delays in your visa processing.
- 3. Proceed to the payment platform to pay the visa fee using your credit or debit card. Please note that the visa fee is non-refundable.
- 4. Upload clear scans of all your supporting documents. All documents should be submitted in “JPEG” format and should not exceed 1MB.
- 5. Check for accuracy and submit the documents for visa processing.
What are the required documents?
You will need to have the following documents ready to apply for a UAE visa:
- Completed visa Application form.
- A colour copy of your valid passport with a minimum validity of 6 months at the time of applying.
- The passport copy should clearly display your full name, date and place of birth, nationality, date of issue and expiry, and passport number.
- Clear passport-size colour photographs of the applicant. It should be taken on a white background with a clear view of your face.
- Details of your hotel booking (If you are planning to stay)
- Details of the flight booking.
- The passport must have at least four blank pages.
- Travel Insurance.
- You may also be required to submit additional supporting documents depending on your county of residence.
Children
- Documents listed above
- Birth certificate of your child in English or Arabic
- In case of submitting translated documents, they should be attested by an authorised person
Dependents
- Dependents are referred to as spouse, children below the age of 18 and parents above the age of 60.
- Supporting documents such as marriage certificate, birth certificate must be submitted to prove your relationship.
Age Limit
Females under 18 should be accompanied by their parents under the same visa category.
How long is the validity period of the tourist visa?
Travellers may apply for a visa depending on their stay. Visit visas to the UAE can be obtained for 30 days or 90 days with single or multiple entry options. Tourist visas can be extended for 30 days twice without leaving the UAE.
Tips
- Decide your itinerary and the number of days you are planning to stay and apply for the appropriate visa type accordingly.
- Make sure you have a machine-readable passport.
- Check if your nationality is eligible for a visa on arrival.
- Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months from the travel date.
- UAE has particular security concerns over females under 18; therefore, females are permitted to travel with their father, mother or spouse. Failing to do so leads to visa rejection.
- Make sure to submit all the necessary documents as requested.
- Apply for your visa in advance before your visit. However, there might be delays in approval based on several factors.
- If your visa is about to expire and you are planning a more extended stay, apply for a visa extension. Visa extensions are not allowed once your visa is expired.

Travellers who are planning to stay in the UAE for more than 3 months can obtain a visa for 6 months under two categories:
6 months visit visa in UAE for visitors belonging to a unique category
Individuals applying for this visa should fall under a special category such as professionals, students, investors and entrepreneurs. This 6-month multiple entry visa allows visitors to stay longer, understand its environment and begin their paperwork for an extended stay.
6 months UAE visit visa for normal travellers
If you do not fall under the above categories but are willing to stay in the UAE for 6 months, contact our local tourist agency to obtain a no-exit visa extension. This allows you to stay in the UAE for a total of 6 months.
Validity & Grace Period
The grace period is the number of days a visitor could stay in the UAE after visa expiry. Within this stipulated period, the visa holder could either renew the visa to amend the current visa status and extend their stay or leave the country. Visitors holding 30 days on arrival visas and prepaid visas are entitled to obtain a 10-day grace period. However, no grace period will be provided for visitors with 90 days on arrival visa as it comes with a multiple entry visa that is valid for 6 months and allows you a total stay of 90 days in the UAE.
The 10 days grace period is free for 30 days on arrival visa and prepaid visa holders. If you are staying in the UAE beyond that period, then you will have to pay an overstay fine as below:
- 200 AED on day 1 of overstaying
- 100 AED per day from the second day onwards
- Plus 100 AED service charge
Extending UAE Visit Visa
All types of visit and tourist visas can be extended for 30 days twice, upon applying and approved by the relevant authorities. This can be performed without exiting the country and before the expiration of your current visa. You will be charged a fee of AED 600 for each time of renewal.
If you are overstaying and planning to renew your visa, you will have to pay an extra AED 100 for each day you have overstayed. The overstay is calculated from the last day of your grace period.
However, the new rule of visa extension does not apply to the following travellers:
- Individuals on special permits
- Travellers on 96-hour permit
- Visitors and tourists who are residents in GCC countries
- Residents escorting GCC nationals

Passport holders from specific countries can obtain a visa on arrival without any pre-arranged visa requirements. It can be obtained at the airport within a few minutes.

Upon arrival at the UAE’s airport, proceed to the immigration counter, where your passport will be stamped with a multiple entry 90‑day visit visa. It will be valid for 6 months from the date of issue with 90 days of permitted duration of stay.

Travel Requirements for the UAE
- As of 19 May 2019, all UAE residents can travel to Dubai without prior approval from GDRFA or ICP.
- However, tourists and visitors must meet the visa requirements before travelling if they are not eligible for a visa on arrival. Passengers from GCC and other countries must meet the following requirements:
- Present a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate to prove that the passenger is fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved by the WHO.
- Present a negative COVID-19 test certificate issued within 48 hours from the time of sample collection.
- If you have tested COVID positive previously, you must present an approved medical certificate that authorises your recovery from COVID‑19 within one month from the date of recovery to the date of arrival.
- All UAE nationals returning from other countries, passengers with disabilities, children below 12 years, first-degree relatives of a UAE national travelling on the same flight, and domestic workers travelling with a UAE national sponsor are exempt from presenting a COVID-19 vaccination and PCR certificate.
- Passengers transiting through UAE are exempt from COVID- 19 PCR test certificate unless it is required by their final destination.
Can and cannot do in UAE
- Dress modestly, especially in public places and mosques.
- Do mind your public affection and avoid kissing and hugging in public.
- Do not engage in illegal or offensive activities that could bring disgrace to their religion.
- Do not consume alcohol in public places and misbehave.
- Be aware of the rules during the month of holy Ramadan.
- Do not take photographs of others without their permission. It may lead to legal offence.
- Do not engage in illegal relationships outside your marriage. It is considered unlawful in the UAE.
- Do not handshake when meeting the opposite gender before they initiate. Instead, it is always better to greet with “Asslalamu Alaikum”.
Terms & Conditions
- The type of visa to the UAE depends on the visitor’s nationality, the purpose of visit and the duration of stay.
- All UAE visas are valid for 58 days from the date of issue, excluding 48-hour transit visas and 96-hour transit visas, which are only valid for 30 days from the date of issue.
- It is recommended to apply for the visa at least one month before you travel.
- The traveller's passport should be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the travel date.
- The government of UAE and Immigration authorities have the right to approve or reject any visa requests.
- Please check your visa application for errors and accuracy before submission. This will help minimize the rejection of your visa request.
- Every individual requesting a UAE visa should submit the following documents:
- Scanned passport copy
- Scanned coloured passport size photograph
- Confirmed return flight ticket
- A penalty fee of AED 200 will be charged on the first day of overstaying and AED 100 for each additional day after that.
- The visa fee is non-refundable on any occasion, including visa rejections.
- The prices may be subject to change without any prior notice.
- Visas issued under transit/visit/business/tourist are not eligible to work in UAE.
